Germany: Seasonal price drop for wood pellets in June

As is usual in the season, wood pellets' prices fell again in June in most regions of Germany. As the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association (DEPV) reports, the price currently stands at € 228.02 / t if 6 t are ordered - that is 1% below the previous month and 5.4% below the price level in June 2019. The price per kilo is 22.80 cents, a kilowatt hour (kWh) of heat from pellets costs 4.56 cents.

The regional price differences for wood pellets in June 2020 are as follows (purchase quantity 6 t): In southern Germany, pellets are the cheapest at € 225.73 / t, followed by central Germany at € 227.62 / t. After a significant decline in May, the price in the North / East region rose again to € 229.01 / t.
