Housing starts in Japan rose slightly in April, the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism data revealed.
Housing starts went up by 0.3 percent in April, after a sharp drop of 8.3% in March. The rise in April was the first in ten months.
Annualized housing starts rose to 992,000 in April from 895,000 a month ago.
Data also revealed that construction orders received by big 50 contractors advanced 4 percent annually, offsetting March's 4 percent decrease.
