The South African pulp and paper company Mondi expands and modernizes their plant in Syktyvkar, Russia. Mondi will execute its € 525m construction starting April 2008, with completion scheduled by the end of 2010. Andritz will rebuild the existing fiberline in Komi Republic and supply them with a recovery boiler − equipped with odorous gas incineration, an evaporation plant, a logyard and a condensate stripping plant. The logyard, which has a capacity equivalent to a pulp production of 875,000 t/year, consists of two debarking lines with the highest capacity and the biggest chippers in the world. The fiberline delivery includes an upgrade of hard- and softwood lines.
